EL DIABLO

Feliz Navidad and Happy New Year to everyone!

What better way to celebrate the holidays than by working on a devil design for a very personal secret project. The charming Diablo character is a big motif in Mexican folk art and popular culture. He's in tons of folk tales, games, plays, murals, dances, songs and is always more of a funny trickster than an "evil" entity. He's a very lovable yet slightly dangerous character. Maybe it was my Catholic school upbringing but as a kid, I LOVED drawing devils. This usually got me in trouble with the nuns.

he's so quirky sweetie! This looks amazing from far and up close. All those crazy little details! It's a super-duper treat!

I've always liked the Devil to dress up, a fancy hell-being is a host to meet. I know this guy is German, but have you heard of The Krampus? It's this little demon/devil that follows Santa. They were like a coin always together treating the children of the world in each ones own way.

Anyhow everything I've seen from you has been nothing, but gold... short lived and still Gold. I hope that this project blows up to become something huge.
